Discover the amazing area of the Pyrenees, with panoramas, forests, caves and peaks. The flora and fauna is exceptional, and above all just a step outside and you can start your adventure on foot.

Locally you can hike on fairly easy trails around Aspet, Arbas, Herran, Arbon, Milhas, Juzet-d’Izaut, with stunning walks for all the family. Passing ancient barns and walking through the prairies. You get to see the agricultural working life close up in this area.

The GR10 pass is a popular hiking trail traversing the Pyrenees from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean coast. While there are no peaks to climb, its still a challenge to follow the red and white blazed well marked routes. You can join this route at Luchon and Lac d’Oo.

The HRP (High Route Pyrenees) is for more adventurous hikers this hiking route criss crosses the French and Spanish borders.

Higher up, on the more difficult walks, you could be lucky enough to spot signs of the small brown Pyrenean bears released in the neighbouring Departments. It is possible to take a guide into the mountains and follow the trails.

For an active day out here, try the Pic de Cagire 1912m. Our local mountain is very popular to summit from either side. Hike to the top and watch the sun rise or set. Either way the 360°views are stunning. While it will likely take you 5-6 hours to summit and return to your starting point. Along the walk there are a couple of refuges to rest at or have a picnic stop on your hike.
